How is it possible that Blake Shelton, 39, and Gwen Stefani, 46, didn’t take their eyes off each other once when they performed on The Voice May 9…but they still managed to connect with the crowd/viewer SO well!? I was absolutely entranced during the couple’s duet of “Go Ahead & Break My Heart” and it’s made me a total believer in their relationship.
Blake and Gwen’s chemistry during the performance was undeniable — they couldn’t keep their eyes off one another and were constantly smiling as they sang the song that tells the story of how they got together. These two have spent months gushing about one another, but I felt this was one of the first times we really got to see how genuine their feelings are, and it was refreshing.
As a country music fan, I was devastated when Blake and Miranda Lambert, 32, divorced last summer, and even though I absolutely love Gwen, I just wasn’t ready for the 39-year-old to move on so fast! When The Voice coaches got together in the fall, I was totally convinced it was all done to promote the show and refused to believe it was the real deal. Then, when Season 9 of The Voice ended in December, it seemed like the hot new couple was almost overdoing their relationship, after they spent the months during the show trying to hide it and remain so coy. They were all over each other at the Academy Awards, and Gwen even had a not-at-all-subtle reference to her man in the “Make Me Like You” music video — it’s almost like it was too much…and it was all happening right before the March 18 release of her album.
Coincidence? I thought not! And considering Blake’s record, If I’m Honest, is set for a May 20 release, I figured maybe they’d keep up the charade to give him some press, too.
But after watching them on stage last night, it’s completely obvious that these two are head over heels for one another. This is the REAL DEAL, you guys, and I couldn’t be happier for them! Plus, the song is absolutely incredible, which helps!
