Marcus Stroman announced Saturday that he will be pitching for Team USA at the World Baseball Classic

Stroman is eligible to pitch for the United States and Puerto Rico. On Friday while at the David Ortiz Celebrity Golf Classic in the Dominican Republic, Stroman told reporters he intended to pitch in the tournament but refused to confirm which country he would play for.

Stroman went 9-10 with a 4.37 ERA in a career best 204 innings over 32 starts in 2016.

The World Baseball Classic runs through most of March. The United States and Canada are in Group C, which will play its round robin games in Miami.
