Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke has made his distaste for Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton clear, calling her “morally bankrupt” and a “pathological liar.”
On Monday, his boiling rhetoric about Clinton reached new levels as he called her “a straight up cop hater” during an appearance on Fox and Friends.
Clarke said Clinton’s snub of the nation’s largest police union is not only a grave error, but also reveals Clinton’s affinity for criminals instead of the police.
The Clinton campaign has refused to seek the endorsement of the National Fraternal Order of Police, instead stating the campaign’s goal is to hold “police departments like Ferguson accountable.”
“She thinks that the criminals are victims of a racist criminal justice system, which is a lie,” he said.
“With her getting in bed with this Black Lives movement, this dangerous, hateful ideology, she is taking it out on good law-abiding black people that live in the American ghetto. They’re the ones who are victimized disproportionately by crime and violence,” he added.
“It’s a huge miscalculation, a huge political miscalculation on the part of Mrs. Bill Clinton,” Clarke said. “Look, everyone running for public office, at any level, knows that you want and you have to have the support of not only law enforcement but other first responders.”
Clarke said Clinton has shown her loyalty and it is not on the side of law and order.
In the interview, Sheriff Clarke also pointed out that there are approximately 900,000 police officers in this nation, and they have spouses, voting age children and extended family who vote, and the same is true of all the firefighters and other first responders. Clinton is apparently willing to throw away over five million votes (at least) and instead seek support among criminals and their apologists.
Why would she do that? Because she is pushing a Marxist agenda that needs to make it all about race when talking about the police. The Marxist “Social Justice Warrior” mantra is that the United States is a “racist” nation – indeed, that all of Western culture is racist – and that all police are willing enforcers of that racism. What they have done is to take some legitimate concerns about excessive force and corruption among police and steer it into a movement focused on race – the “Black Lives Matter” movement and related offshoots. There is a real problem within police ranks that needs to be fixed, but that problem is across the board, across the nation, in every community, not just in minority communities, and it is not a “racist” problem.
As I pointed out well over two years ago:
The perception [by police] of the people as “the enemy” in a “war on terrorism” and a “war on drugs” is not just in cities, nor is it just applied to “communities of color.” That perception is applied in small town America as well as in cities, and to ALL Americans, of every race, creed, and color. It is not a “black” problem. It is not a “brown” problem. It is an American problem. Any American, anywhere, at any time, can be subjected to the same military tactics and mindset, whether during a raid on their home, during a traffic stop, or any other encounter with police. Sniper rifles were pointed in at protesting Americans at Bundy Ranch in Nevada just as much as in Ferguson, Missouri. And likewise for the response to the Boston bombing in the search of Watertown, MA, where weapons were pointed in at entire families as they were ordered from their homes. And any American can suffer the fate of Jose Guerena (Marine Iraq veteran killed in SWAT raid), Bounkham Phonesavah (a one year old baby burned with a flash-bang), or any of the many other Americans caught up in the overuse and abuses of SWAT teams seen here: www.cato.org/raidmap
And any American can end up like John T. Williams (deaf woodcarver shot by Seattle cop while whittling a stick), or David Eckert (repeatedly cavity searched and subjected to forced enemas and colonoscopy), or like these two women cavity searched on the side of the road. What does race have to do with it? Not much.
This can happen to any American, of any race, in any community, at any time.
As retired Pennsylvania police officer Larry Hohol put it, when referring to that last link (the Robert Leone beating): “But for the grace of God, this could have been your child or family member that these horrific acts happened to.” That had nothing to do with race, but everything to do with abuse of power.
American police have a problem, and this problem is now endemic, and reaches into every community. As former NYPD Detective Frank Serpico recently said: “Today the combination of an excess of deadly force and near-total lack of accountability is more dangerous than ever: Most cops today can pull out their weapons and fire without fear that anything will happen to them, even if they shoot someone wrongfully. All a police officer has to say is that he believes his life was in danger, and he’s typically absolved. What do you think that does to their psychology as they patrol the streets—this sense of invulnerability? The famous old saying still applies: Power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely.
And it is a problem that the good police have a DUTY to stop. You officers who are the “good cops” out there must police your own and put a stop to the abuse by the bad cops, and that includes all the overuse and abuse of SWAT teams, all of the violations of rights perpetrated in the name of the “war on drugs” and all of the excessive force and violations of rights that occur all over this nation, every day.”
There is a problem, but it is not one of racism. I am glad Sheriff Clarke is calling the Marxist left out on their attempt to divide the American people along racial lines, and twist legitimate concerns about police abuse of power into a racially focused weapon against their own nation. As he said, such a racial focus makes it look like all cops are out to get all black people, based only on their color, and it thus serves as cover and excuse for the violent gangs and the related “thug culture” that infest and prey directly on black communities. And it also serves as an attempt to radicalize and racialize black Americans, to get them to see everything through a racial lens, as if all police abuse of power is focused on them alone. And that can and does lead some of them to then presume that all white Americans are their enemies, and that the police are the enforcers of “white privilege” which is then blamed for the problems in black communities. And all of this is done in the ultimate service of a Marxist movement that hates this nation, hates our Constitution, and hates Western Civilization, and wishes to radically “transform” it through a Cloward-Piven type strategy of creative destruction and divide and conquer along racial lines (with one of their goals being to nationalize and politicize the police, in service to that same agenda).
Let’s not fall for it. We are all in this together. And together we need to reform the police in all communities, bring them into full compliance with the Constitution and hold them fully accountable when they violate it. And we all need to take responsibility in our communities for purging out and suppressing the violent criminals while providing security in our neighborhoods, towns, and cities, starting with neighborhood watches (with teeth) and working our way up to strong sheriff posses and then a fully revitalized militia, made up of all able bodied citizens. That needs to be done in every neighborhood, and especially in communities preyed upon by violent street gangs. Veterans (whatever your color) it is time to step up and take back the streets from the thugs, and reform the police at the local level. That is the constitutional answer. – Stewart Rhodes
