The legendary rocker and frontman of classic rock band, Aerosmith, has announced that he’s giving up a priceless treasure in order to benefit and better the lives of others. Steven Tyler, who began as a hard-rocking musician, has now crossed over into the realm of country music with the release of “Love Is Your Name” from his upcoming debut country-rock album.
Not too long afterward, in November 2015, Tyler launched a new charity dedicated to “bringing hope and healing” to “who have suffered the trauma of abuse and neglect”.
With the successful launch, the charity has seen a tremendous outpouring of support from all around the world. Now, the leading man himself is amping up support for the fund by putting a truly one-of-a-kind car up for auction to help raise money for the cause!
His 4-year-old Hennessey Venom GT Spyder is a remarkable vehicle and is known for the cars quick engine and insanely fast top speed. Built in Texas, this American engineering marvel has a top speed of over 250 mph, and has been awarded the world record for the fastest production car at 266 mph.
As FOX News reports, Tyler’s never driven it quite that fast, but he has gotten it going pretty quick. “It’s incredibly fast,” Tyler says in an interview. “It’s crazy, it drives well.”
The auction is set to close out at the end of May with bids starting at $1.1 million – the price Tyler purchased the car for. All proceeds will go to Janie’s Fund and if you want to get a bid in…you’d better do it quick.
