Windsor, Ont. – Windsor police are working to find any video they can of a weekend incident in which they believe a 17-year-old boy was purposely run down with a vehicle.

Around 1 a.m. Sunday, police say that a group of males pulled up to a 21-year-old man in the Pillette Road and Ontario Street area, got out of their vehicle and began assaulting him.

A 17-year-old male tried to help the man being assaulted. That’s when police say the assailants got back in their vehicle “and appeared to intentionally run over” the teenager.

The injured teen was taken to hospital with serious injuries. Police say he is now in stable condition, though he was previously in critical condition.

Anyone who has information to share with investigators is asked to call 519-255-6700 x4830.

Tips can also be passed on anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
