Blue Jays sign Domonic Brown to a minor league deal with an invitation to ‪spring training

The Toronto Blue Jays signed a former All-Star Thursday, adding outfielder Domonic Brown on a minor league contract.

Brown, a left-handed hitter, represented the Philadelphia Phillies at the 2013 All-Star Game, but has struggled ever since. The 28-year-old posted a .634 OPS in each of the last two seasons, hitting 10 home runs in 2014 and just five homers in 2015.

Brown spent the entire 2015 season in right field, but he has considerable experience in both corner outfield spots. He’ll presumably compete for the fourth outfielder’s job along with Dalton Pompey, Ezequiel Carrera and Junior Lake.

Agent Scott Boras represents Brown.
