Star Wars The Force Awakens

You love him. And… he knows.

Harrison Ford is not nostalgic, but he’s getting there.

The legacy of Han Solo is not one Ford has always been comfortable with, even though the galactic smuggler gave him his first big break as an actor. After surviving his own near-death experience in a plane crash this year, the 73-year-old is a bit more soul-searching about everything from being an action figure to unlikely good (and bad) luck that seems to suggest… destiny.

With Star Wars: The Force Awakens hitting theaters, Entertainment Weekly and EW Radio on Sirius XM present this special podcast of our interview with the actor at his plane hangar at the Santa Monica Airport.

In between aircraft taking off in the background, he discusses his conflicted history with the character, walks through his accident on set when the Millennium Falcon door broke his leg, and talks about getting back into a real cockpit after crashing his World War II-era plane in March.

Here’s our Han Solo special, featuring not just Ford, but guest appearances by J.J. Abrams, Daisy Ridley, and more.

You can hear more stories of the storytellers on Behind the Scenes on Sirius XM, Channel 105, airing every Wednesday at 6 p.m. ET/3 p.m. PT.
