Miranda Was Just Rushed Off Stage, This Is SCARY

Miranda Was Just Rushed Off Stage, This Is SCARYMiranda Lambert was nearing the end of her show at Rodeo Houston when a fan tried to rush the stage. He didn’t get very far before security intervened, however.

The unidentified man was tackled and promptly arrested after he jumped a fence and rushed toward Lambert. Many in the audience didn’t know what had happened, while others thought the concert ended prematurely. A statement from rodeo officials provided to Houston news outlets like KHOU didn’t elaborate on the man’s intent, although Click 2 Houston reports that he may have been trying to give her flowers.

“We confirm that yes there was an arrest for criminal trespassing, due to someone entering the arena,” the statement reads. “We make announcements that no spectators are allowed in the arena except for chute seat holders during the concert.”

Lambert had just finished singing “Gunpowder and Lead,” a song she’s used in the past to close shows, or to wrap up a set that precedes an encore. Houston’s Culture Map lists 15 songs on her set list. The only new song was “Sweet By and By,” her contribution to Dave Cobb’s Southern Family album.

The 32-year-old is a Rodeo Houston vet, and while some outlets reported that she was rushed off stage when the man hopped the fence, that’s not what local Houston news outlets are reporting. Fans who took photos from the crowd share that the man was apprehended quickly by security, who walked him away from the stage area.
