This is just so cool. For those of you who are loyal David Bowie fans, this will be a treat.
‘BLACKSTAR’ IS RISING
David Bowie today opted for a three-way to slow tease his new album, “Blackstar,” due out on January 8, his 69th birthday.
First, Bowie posted a 15-second shapeshifting reveal of the album art on his Facebook page.
Then he released a short clip of the video for the title cut, which will premiere tonight on Sky Atlantic in the United Kingdom and be released worldwide on Friday. The song is also the theme of a new British crime drama, “The Last Panthers.”
The final push came with a 30-second trailer for the sleek, black cover of the vinyl LP, showcasing a die-cut star.
“Blackstar,” Bowie’s 25th studio album, also features cuts from “Lazarus,” the new musical based on the 1976 sci-fi cult classic, “The Man Who Fell to Earth.” The production begins previews tonight at the New York Theatre Workshop.
